Jason Grier, a Detective on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Crime Gun Suppression Team, was diagnosed in April of 2023 with stage 4 cancer. This patch was designed as a fundraiser to assist with medical bills related to treatment and depicts the CGST patch in the center, along with Detective Grier’s badge number. Sadly, this aggressive cancer took Jason’s life on June 18, 2023. He was a 17-year veteran of CMPD, but started with CMPD at 14 years old as an Explorer, continuing in college as part of the Cadet Program until going through the academy in 2006. During his career at CMPD, Jason was a Patrol Officer, a Crime Reduction Unit Officer, a Detective with the TRAP Team, one of CMPD’s Officers of the Month in 2015 and, most recently, a Detective with the CGST. He was active in the Charlotte community and his church. He is survived by his wife and two children, who will be receiving the proceeds from this patch.

This is a 4.75" 100% embroidered patch with iron on backing.
