While brainstorming a design for a First Responder mental health coin, the circumstances surrounding the following incident popped right in my mind and we knew that it deserved a coin. As a child, I watched the made for TV movie "Everybody's Baby: The Rescue of Jessica McClure" with my sisters on a regular basis. Watching everyone come together to help in this time of crisis made me want to become a first responder myself. As I grew older and started to research that incident more, I was saddened to hear that one of the rescuers, Robert O'Donnell, took his own life several years later afters struggling with PTSD.

When I was a kid, and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me "Look for the helpers." You will always fine people that are helping." - Fred Rogers

But, sometimes the helpers need help. Talk with someone. Check in on each other. You are not alone. You are valued and wanted. Be strong.
