Thank you to all who supported this cause. Because of you, we were able to donate over $900 to this foundation!
Police Officer Enmanuel "Manny" Familia was a 5 year veteran of the Worcester Police Depatment. On June 4, 2021 Manny responded to a call at Green Hill Park for a report of people in the water. Knowing the dangers, Manny dove into the water and valiantly attempted to rescue 14 year old, Troy Love, who was vacationing with family. Manny was located by our brothers from the Worcester Fire Department and transported to the Emergency Room where, despite the efforts of Worcester EMS and hospital staff, Manny was pronounced deceased. One hour later divers located Troy Love and transported him to the same hospital where he also perished. Manny lived selflessly and loved not only his family and the City of Worcester, but he loved being a cop! Always with a permanent smile and the ability to talk to anyone. He will be sorely missed.
Proceeds benefit the 267 Foundation. The 267 Foundation was created in Officer Familia's honor and is used to fund free swimming classes for local children at the local YMCA and provide water rescue training and the proper equipment for officers.
Thank you Officer Familia for your heroic service to the Commonwealth.
